Kitchen Flooring
If you are giving your Kitchen a makeover or just want to remodel your old kitchen then an area which tends to get missed is the floor. Most people will spend a fortune on new cabinets and kitchen appliances they will buy a modern shiny new kitchen sink and faucet but one area which tends to be forgotten is the kitchen flooring. There was a time when kitchen floors started to have carpet put on them, this is not a good idea for a kitchen floor covering as kitchen flooring needs to be hard wearing and easy to clean up spillages. If you have a carpeted kitchen floor then it will soon become very stained and grubby looking as there tends to be lots of water and liquid spillages in a kitchen and for easy of cleaning there are lots better options than carpet.
Linoleum Flooring
Linoleum flooring used to be considered old fashioned and poor quality flooring however modern linoleum is very different, it is hard wearing and will last about 40 years if looked after, easy to clean, it is also very easy to fit and now manufactures can have a surface protector which stops the linoleum from staining and makes it waterproof. The choice of designs and patterns for Linoleum is limitless so there will be a pattern everyone should like. The only downside to linoleum is you need a good flat floor to fit it too and care must be taken when moving appliances as they can damage the floor.
Vinyl Flooring
Vinyl kitchen flooring is one of the best kitchen flooring ideas as it is totally suited as a floor covering for the kitchen. Vinyl kitchen flooring is waterproof, scratch resistant, durable and easy to clean. Vinyl flooring also comes in a variety of styles and designs you can also have cushioned vinyl flooring which makes it more comfortable to walk on and tends to be warmer than tiles. Vinyl flooring as with linoleum comes in a sheet and will need to be affixed to the under floor with glue some flooring comes with the glue ready applied you just have to peel off the backing. Vinyl flooring is easy to fit and cut to shape and makes a perfect kitchen floor covering.
Laminate Flooring
Kitchen laminate flooring is a very popular choice of flooring not just for the kitchen but the whole house. Laminate flooring in the kitchen gives you the nice effect of having wooden floors without the hassle of wooden floors which are easily scratched and damaged by water. Most laminates are water proof and fairly scratch resistant making them easy to clean and wipe up spillages. Laminate flooring always gives a great look to any room and is available in a variety of colors and wood designs.
Tile Flooring
Kitchen tile flooring comes in a variety of different materials one of the most popular is the stone kitchen flooring tiles in granite, soapstone, slate and lots of other stone materials. Kitchen tiles are not just available in stone but also ceramics and carpet although carpet tiles are not really suitable in the kitchen. Kitchen floor tiles are quite a good option if your floor is not completely flat. Using kitchen floor tiles you can iron out small bumps and uneven surfaces in the kitchen floor unlike the other materials which need no bumps and uneven surfaces. However can be more time consuming to keep clean and dirt free.
